Suspect Blames Brevard County Shooting On 'Disturbing Thoughts'
(Melbourne, FL) -- The suspect in a deadly shooting in Brevard County blames what he calls disturbing thoughts. Robert Quackenbush is accused of killing Travis Knight this week in Melbourne outside the Circles of Care on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The 29-year-old Quackenbush was once counseled by Knight, who worked at the mental health treatment center. Police say Quackenbush told them the treatment he got, including drugs, led him to believe the 32-year-old Knight was a threat to him.
Inmate Attacks Officer, Steals Truck
(Orlando, FL) -- An Orange County inmate is accused of attacking a guard and stealing a truck. Deputies say Dalton Ayers hit a guard with a shovel yesterday afternoon at SR 408 and North John Young Parkway and stole the guard's pickup truck. By helicopter, deputies tracked Ayers and watched him crash the truck about an hour later in Lake County at CR 470 and CR 48 in Okahumpka, and he was taken into custody. The officer was not seriously hurt.
Governor Lays Out Vaccine Distribution Plan
(Tampa, FL) -- Governor Ron DeSantis is laying out his vaccine distribution plan, but getting the shot will not be mandatory. Priority will be given to long-term care facilities and healthcare workers. People who are age 65 and older with pre-existing conditions will be next in line. However, the Governor's plan does not prioritize essential workers that would include law enforcement, first responders and teachers.
Polk County Sheriff Warns Of Porch Pirates
(Bartow, FL) -- The holiday season just got started, but Polk County's sheriff is already seeing a disturbing trend. Sheriff Grady Judd said recently that crimes involving porch pirates are on the rise. He says because of COVID, he has seen more porch pirates than normal, and he anticipates even more leading up to Christmas. Judd advises residents to get packages delivered to work or to a neighbor's house if you can't be home when it arrives.
Daytona International Speedway Hiring Workers For Upcoming Races
(Daytona Beach, FL) -- The Daytona International Speedway is hiring workers for its upcoming races. The speedway is holding a series of job fairs to fill positions for guest services, information booths and tram drivers. Those hired will increase the workforce needed for Speedweek events including the Rolex 24 race and the Daytona 500 in 2021. The next job fair will take place at the speedway this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Two Women In Kraft Case Plead Guilty To Prostitution
(Jupiter, FL) -- Two of the four women facing charges in the Florida sting operation that led to the arrest of an NFL owner are pleading guilty. Lei Wang and Shen Mingbi agreed to plead guilty to one count of soliciting another to commit prostitution at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa. The misdemeanor charge against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was dropped after courts refused to allow the use of surveillance video. He was one of 25 people facing charges in the sting operation.

This time, they say the game is inspired by their time on the road touring.
