SpaceX Makes Historic Launch

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- SpaceX can celebrate a historic launch. The company last night launched four astronauts from Cape Canaveral to the International Space Station. It's SpaceX's first operational flight for NASA carrying astronauts. Docking with the ISS is expected at 11:00 tonight. 

Hundreds of thousands of people witnessed the launch that may bring us one step closer to visiting Mars. SpaceX's launch last night from Cape Canaveral was part of NASA's Artemis program which calls for sending astronauts to the moon in four years and then one day to Mars. Vice President Mike Pence viewed the launch.He called it another historic milestone for America.  

Baby Yoda On Board Mission To ISS

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- As a certain Star Wars character may say, 'on board the SpaceX Dragon capsule, a special guest there is.' The four astronauts who blasted off last night to the International Space Station brought a Baby Yoda doll on board with them. The doll from the Disney-Plus series The Mandalorian is the gravity indicator. That means when Baby Yoda floats in the air, the astronauts know they have reached zero gravity.  

Officer Involved Shooting Under Investigation In Brevard County

(Cocoa, FL) -- An officer involved shooting is under investigation in Brevard County. The incident happened Friday afternoon outside a home in Cocoa. The Cocoa Police and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement confirm there is an investigation underway into the shooting that involved a Brevard County Sheriff's Deputy. So far, no other official information has been released about the incident. Reports in local media outlets say one person died in a confrontation with the deputy.

Man Sought For Exposing Himself To Child

(Palm Bay, FL) -- A search is underway to find a man who may have exposed himself to a child in Brevard County. The alleged incident happened Friday in Palm Bay on Eldron Boulevard near Southwest Middle School. Police say a man in a black SUV exposed himself to a girl and asked her to get in his car. Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage for more clues, and extra officers will be patrolling the area. 

Restaurant Owner Tackles Gunman

(Miami, FL) -- The actions of a restaurant owner may be responsible for avoiding a tragedy in Miami-Dade County. The owner's wife says a man entered the Gran Parada Cafe and Restaurant on Northwest 10th Ave in Pinewood yesterday afternoon, pulled out a gun and fired it into the air. She tells Local 10 News that's when her husband tackled the gunman, who got away before police arrived, but police say the gun didn't go off until the owner tackled the gunman. One person was shot in the ankle and another was grazed by a bullet, but they're both in stable condition. 

Backlash Generated Over Chinese Store's Size Labels

(China) -- One Chinese clothing story is apologizing for the way they chose to describe clothing sizes. Photos from inside an RT-Mart began to circulate heavily online in China, showing a women's sizing chart listing plus-sizes as "horrible" and "rotten" and smaller sizes as "slim" and "beautiful." The chain retailer issued a statement after receiving backlash and said the chart was an isolated incident. All signs at the store have reportedly been taken down.
