SpaceX Launch Set For Today

(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- There's a good chance SpaceX will have its first rocket launch of the year tonight. SpaceX is planning to launch a Falcon 9 rocket at 9:19 p.m., and conditions at Cape Canaveral are 90-percent Go. The rocket will carry 60 communication satellites meant to help one day bring broadband internet connection to every corner of the world. 

Tornado Suspected In Volusia County

(DeLand, FL) -- We could find out today what kind of weather event is responsible for damage in Lake and Volusia counties. National Weather Service personnel will be in Leesburg and DeLand today to see if a tornado touched down Saturday. More than 50 homes were affected in Leesburg, and one man suffered minor injuries when a tree limb fell into his home. DeLand sustained about 20-thousand dollars' worth of damage to city facilities. 

Python Challenge Comes Up Later This Week

(West Palm Beach, FL) -- A python hunt comes up starting later this week in the Everglades. The ten-day event to reduce the invasive population starts Friday. The hunter who kills the most pythons during the event could win an ATV donated by Bass Pro Shops. It costs 25-dollars to enter the python challenge hunt. Find out the details online at FLPythonChallenge-dot-org.

Oprah Kicks Off National Tour In Sunrise

(Sunrise, FL) -- Oprah Winfrey is trying to help South Floridians live better lives. The former talk show host was in Sunrise this weekend as part of her 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus tour. She told the crowd at the BB&T Center healthy is the new skinny, and she's not trying to fit into a certain size or someone else's idea of what she should look like. One woman who attended told CBS4 News Oprah is the most amazing woman in the country, and she wanted to get Oprah's spirit and energy. 

Indiana Twins Born In Different Decades

(Pendleton, IN) -- A pair of New Year's Day twins in Indiana were born in different decades. Dawn Gilliam of Pendleton had her first baby on New Year's Eve in 2019. Joslyn was born at 11:37pm, weighing four pounds and eleven ounces. Her twin brother, Jaxon, came along 30 minutes later, weighing four pounds and seven ounces. By then, it was 2020, putting his birthday in a different year and a new decade. 

Kentucky Police: Man Skinned Dogs For Coat

(David, KY) -- A Kentucky man is in custody after allegedly skinning his neighbors' four dogs to make a "doggy coat." Officers arrested 38-year-old Jonathan D. Watkins in David following a call from Watkins neighbor, who reported that the man, who was covered in blood, told him he had been skinning dogs. Both him and another neighbor were missing dogs, whose suspected animal carcasses were discovered on Watkins' front porch. Police reported finding a large hunting knife before Watkins said to them that he was making a "doggy coat" and found nothing wrong with making himself a fur coat. He faces charges of animal torture and tampering with physical evidence, but must undergo a psych evaluation first.

Space Force Unit Apparently Named For Star Trek's Mr. Spock

(Undated) -- It looks like there will be a little bit of Star Trek in America's new Space Force. The 14th Air Force unit is being transferred to Space Force, where it will be renamed Space Operations Command. Its acronym will be SPOC, which sounds like a nod to the iconic character from the original TV space drama. It could be argued the name change is only logical.
