WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY: know of what you speak

KNOW OF WHAT YOU SPEAK...or, IF YOU DON'T SAY NO, HOW DOES HE KNOW?

I had hoped that after writing the INSIDER column yesterday we would be done with the NFL protest issue.  Apparently we aren’t.  But folks around the country are, well, they are done with the NFL.  DirecTV is giving refunds on the NFL package.  Didn’t expect that, did you?  And a US Senator from WV says the owners should not be tolerating the protests.  Want to bet he doesn’t get the crap they give the president for saying essentially the same thing, albeit less delicately?  The NFL is in panic mode with down ratings and a bad image.  They need Scandal’s Olivia Pope and they are looking for that crisis communicator.

Speaking of crisis, I would not covet Andy Ziegler’s shoes this morning.  He’s been cleared of a sexual harassment complaint, mainly because the alleged victims didn’t understand just what sexual harassment is.  The school board has passed a budget which has left the teachers’ union whining and is looking at a rezoning plan that could leave many parents doing the same.

At the County Commission the budget has passed on a 3-2 vote and you are left to decide if it’s a tax hike or a responsible move.  And…it’s a WIDE OPEN WEDNESDAY.  What’s on your mind?
