No Respect Monday

If you watched the NFL yesterday, or had your head in social media, the world was consumed by professional athletes not standing- or in the case of the Pittsburgh Steelers (save one)- not appearing for The Star Spangled Banner. The NFL has no control over the image of its product and the NFL is not used to that.  They are falling on the wrong side of this one.  NASCAR, on the other hand, gets it and gets it well!

A local web publication instituted the Brevard Public Service Hall of Fame as a benefit to the Brevard Public Service Charity.  While there are many good folks around Brevard, as well as some public safety professionals honored, this dog and pony show tarnished every other award they handed out by issuing an Exceptional Citizen Award to Palm Shores Mayor Carol McCormack.  This appears to be nothing more than an attempt at political rehabilitation of her severely damaged reputation.  The mayor accepted funds she legally could not and then allowed her town to repay the ill gotten gain, thus ensuring the taxpayers were stuck twice while the mayor enriched herself on their backs.

Anyone have a problem with a concealed carrier taking his gun into church?  I hope not.  It took one to stop a shooting in a Tennessee church yesterday…even though he did it without his gun!

We’ve not talked with Rita Pritchett since she took office as the D-1 County Commissioner.  We’ll remedy that this morning in our 8am hour.  We’ll talk the budget, CRA’s the TDC, EDC, roads and more.
